A convoy of 37 classic cars is en route from Sydney to Adelaide, all in the interest of raising awareness and funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.
The Aussie Muscle Car Run departed Sydney Motor Sport Park on Sunday morning, embarking on the 2,000km trip via Canberra, Benalla, Geelong, Portland and Mt Gambier on its way to Adelaide. Bridgestone Australia is the proud principal partner of the event.
Along the way, the Aussie Muscle Car Run will stop by Bridgestone Select and Bridgestone Service Centres (for a social call - not running repairs) and will also be joined by Bridgestone ambassador and self-professed revhead Shane Jacobson.
The trip began with a parade lap of Sydney Motor Sport Park, led by Australian Touring Car legend Allan Moffat and also features track time at Winton Motor Raceway in Victoria.
Before even leaving New South Wales, the event has been successful in raising in excess of $267,000, which will go towards leukaemia and blood cancer research, advocacy and raising awareness.
The public is also invited to welcome the Aussie Muscle Car Run on its arrival in Adelaide on Saturday, 4 November at Wigley Reserve, Glenelg from 5:30pm.
