Bridgestone Awarded for Community Spirit

If there’s a Bridgestone store near you, particularly if you live in a close-knit community, you might have heard about the great work they’re doing in the area.

The Franchise Council of Australia has certainly heard about it, which is why they recently presented Bridgestone with a Social Responsibility Award.

The award recognises the passion our Bridgestone stores have for giving back to the communities where they live and work. It’s the kind of passion that extends way beyond what you might expect from your average tyre dealer, that’s for sure.

Throughout the year, our Bridgestone stores support the company’s 30-year Leukaemia Foundation partnership in many ways.

They shave and colour their hair as part of the World’s Greatest Shave, sell special blue valve caps to support vital blood cancer research, and fund the supply of patient transport vehicles across the country – just to name a few… And don’t get us started on those sausage sizzle fundraisers you all know and love!

Alongside supporting blood cancer patients on their health journeys, our stores are also dedicated to helping keep the environment healthy.

When you bring your car into one of our stores to have your tyres replaced, you can be sure those old tyres will be recycled rather than ending up in landfill. In terms of products, they’re great at helping spread the word about Bridgestone’s Ecopia low rolling resistance tyres, which reduce fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions.

Most recently though, 10 high-performing stores won $10,000 grants for schools in their area, with the funds put towards outdoor classrooms, innovative science projects, state-of-the-art 3D printers and more.

That’s not to mention our Bridgestone stores that dedicate time and funds to other causes, like such as the sponsorship of their favourite local sporting clubs.

Because of all this, our Bridgestone stores are filled with some pretty special people – who not only want to run a successful business, but who also want to contribute positively to society.
