Bridgestone has extended its support of a cause close to the hearts of many Australians, announcing a new three-year partnership agreement with the Leukaemia Foundation.
The agreement comes as Bridgestone marks 30 years of support for the Foundation in 2016 – a milestone celebrated at the ‘Iridescence’ gala ball on June 25 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
Thanks to more than 370 people in attendance, the fundraising event managed to raise a whopping $85,000 to assist the Foundation’s mission of improving blood cancer survival and quality of life.
Dating all the way back to 1986, the strong charitable partnership between Bridgestone and the Leukaemia Foundation is thought to be one of Australia’s longest-standing.
Three decades ago, Bridgestone made the decision to direct its energies to a cause that affects many lives with the aim to make a real, long-term difference. And since then, so much has been achieved.
While the 30-year gala ball celebration recognised all the work that has been done so far, it also highlighted the need for Bridgestone and the Foundation to continue working together to ensure a better quality of life for blood cancer patients and, most importantly, hope for their long term recovery.
Because sadly, 13,000 Australians are still diagnosed with blood cancer every year.Bridgestone is committed to supporting the quest for a blood cancer free future. We are incredibly excited about the new partnership agreement and what it will help the Foundation achieve over the coming years – so stay tuned.
