Aside from being tyre enthusiasts, the team at Bridgestone are passionate advocates for youth and staying safe on the road.
A new partnership with leading road safety education provider Road Safety Education Limited (RSE) will see those passions combine.
Bridgestone has signed on to sponsor RSE’s flagship RYDA program – a series of powerful and practical workshops which aim to change the way that young people think about road safety.
The program is delivered throughout Australia and New Zealand to a staggering 50,000 high school students every year, through a whopping 600 schools.
Important safety messaging developed by Bridgestone, which would be familiar to many, will also be incorporated into the RYDA program.
Appearing on televisions screens across Australia since 2014, Bridgestone’s Safe Hands campaign explores the idea that only a small amount of tread – one handprint’s worth – connects a tyre to the road. It has been found to resonate well with consumers, helping them understand just how important their tyres are to remaining safe on the road.
That same messaging will feature in RYDA’s Speed and Stopping Session – a practical roadside demonstration which explores the issue of vehicle speed with an emphasis on the importance of vehicle maintenance – to further engage the tens of thousands of young people that participate in the program annually.
Ensuring young people understand the importance of road safety as soon as they begin driving is critical to reducing youth road accidents, which is why we at Bridgestone are so happy to have aligned ourselves with a group of people as passionate about road safety as we are.
